You are excited about finding the home of your dreams. You are ready to make an offer and do whatever it takes to close the deal. Then you remember one thing: the home inspection.
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the inspection will go as planned. There is always the chance that something bad could turn up, making it more difficult to move forward with the purchase.
Some people would never buy a home without an inspection. Others, however, don't care about this. They would rather skip the process, because they don't want to learn what is wrong with the home. Furthermore, they don't want to spend the money.
While the decision is yours, it is never a good idea to buy a home without first having it inspected. Neglecting to do so could lead you down the wrong path, such as purchasing a home with serious issues. Do you really want to buy a home with a leaky roof? How about mold? What about a cracked foundation?
Once you have a home inspected, you can make a final determination as to what to do next. You can either walk away, sign off on everything as is or renegotiate. In other words, this leaves you with a variety of options.
Buying a home is a lot of fun. Buying a home without an inspection is a major risk. If you are in the market, set aside time and money for an inspection. You will be glad that you did once you make your way to the closing table.
